3. Refund Policy

Geddes Refrigeration Limited is committed to customer satisfaction. Refunds may be granted under the following conditions:

3.1 Products

Refunds for products will be issued only if:

    • The product is found to be defective upon delivery and reported within 7 days, and
    • The item is returned in its original condition with all packaging, accessories, and documentation.

Refunds will not be issued for:

    • Installed, used, or altered products
    • Products damaged due to improper handling, installation, or misuse
    • Special-order or custom-configured items

All approved refunds will be processed within 7–14 business days to the original payment method.

3.2 Services

Refunds for services (installation, maintenance, or diagnostics) may be granted only if:

    • The service was not rendered, or
    • There is a demonstrated failure on the part of Geddes to deliver the agreed service.

Service call-out fees and diagnostic fees are non-refundable.

4. Order Cancellation Policy

4.1 Customer-Initiated Cancellations

Customers may cancel an order before it is processed or dispatched by contacting Geddes directly.

    • Approved cancellations will be refunded minus any applicable administrative or restocking fees.
    • Once an order has been processed, shipped, or installed, cancellations may not be accepted.
4.2 Geddes-Initiated Cancellations

Geddes reserves the right to cancel an order if:

    • The product becomes unavailable
    • Payment is not successfully completed.
    • There is evidence of fraudulent activity.
    • Incorrect pricing or product information was displayed due to error.

In such cases, a full refund will be issued.

5. Delivery Policy

5.1 Delivery Areas

Geddes provides delivery services across Jamaica. Delivery availability may vary based on product size, weight, and customer location.

5.2 Delivery Timeframes

Estimated delivery times will be provided at checkout or by a Geddes representative.
Delivery timelines may vary based on:

    • Product availability
    • Custom orders
    • Location accessibility
    • Weather and unforeseen circumstances

Geddes is not liable for delays outside of its control.

5.3 Delivery Conditions
    • Customers must ensure someone is available to receive and sign for the delivery.
    • Large or heavy equipment may require special access accommodations.
    • If delivery attempts fail due to customer unavailability or incorrect address, additional delivery fees may apply.

6. Installation & Service Appointments

If your purchase includes installation or service:

  • A confirmed appointment date and time will be scheduled.
  • Customers must ensure access to the property and provide any required site information.
  • Missed appointments may incur a rescheduling fee.

7. Changes to These Terms

Geddes Refrigeration Limited reserves the right to amend or update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Warranty Policy

Geddes Refrigeration Limited provides warranty coverage on Glacier air-conditioning systems as outlined below. Warranty support applies only when units are installed and maintained according to the manufacturer’s standards and the conditions described in this policy.

  1. Warranty Duration:
    Glacier Mini Split A/C
    • Compressor: 60 months
    • Parts: 12 months


Glacier Light Commercial

    • Compressor: 36 months
    • Parts: 12 months

 

  1. Installation Requirements (Mandatory for Warranty Validity)

To maintain the compressor and parts warranty, all Glacier units must be installed according to the manufacturer’s technical specifications:

2.1 Approved Technician

The unit must be installed by a qualified, professional HVAC technician.
Improper or uncertified installation automatically voids the warranty.

2.2 Refrigerant Line (Hybrid/Piping Length) Compliance

The refrigerant line length must remain within the manufacturer’s recommended maximum hybrid/piping limit.
Exceeding this limit compromises system performance and will void the warranty on both compressor and parts.

The installing technician is responsible for:

    • Ensuring the piping length does not exceed the allowable maximum
    • Using the correct pipe diameter
    • Ensuring proper brazing, flaring, and leak-testing
    • Applying the correct refrigerant charge if additional refrigerant is required

No warranty will be honoured if compressor failure or system malfunction is caused by:

    • Excessive piping length
    • Incorrect refrigerant piping size
    • Improper installation methods
    • Contaminated system due to poor vacuuming or moisture entering the lines

2.3 Electrical Requirements

The technician must install the unit using:

    • Proper breaker size
    • Correct wire gauge
    • Adequate surge protection
    • Safe, stable power supply

Damage from power fluctuations, low voltage, or improper electrical setup is not covered by the warranty.

    1. Customer Responsibilities

To maintain warranty eligibility, the customer must ensure:

    • The unit is installed by a competent technician
    • Installation complies with manufacturer guidelines
    • The system is not altered, relocated, or tampered with by unapproved personnel
    • Regular maintenance is performed as required
    1. Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

    • Damage caused by improper installation
    • Failure due to excessive piping length or incorrect pipe size
    • Damage from improper electrical supply, surges, or low voltage
    • Physical damage, misuse, neglect, or unauthorised modifications
    • Units installed in environments not suited for their capacity or rating
